Enerbees Enterprises is a family owned commercial apiary located near Orange New South Wales.
The business is offering a position of a full time Apiarist.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Adhere to work, health and safety standards for work with stinging insect
- Handle beehives using proper techniques to prevent triggering bee aggression
- Undertake seasonal beehive management (re-queening, feeding, closing down of beehives during winter time)
- Create nucleus hives
- Harvest and extract honey crops
- Transport beehives to honey production sites and pollination areas
- Manage and inspect health and condition of bee hives
- Manage pests and diseases within honey bee colonies
- Make bee boxes and frames
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Must have relevant tertiary or vocational qualifications or 3 years relevant work experience in lieu of formal qualification;
- Capable to work efficiently without supervision
- Being able to work away from home for an extended period of time
- Able to communicate effectively
- Hold Driver's license
- Must provide evidence of at least two years' work experience in commercial beekeeping
Hours of Work: 38 hours per week.
