The successful candidate will be required to work on a rotational 24/7 roster which includes night shifts, weekends and public holidays.As the Assistant in Nursing you will perform all operational tasks required to provide efficient and effective sterile service within the Mater Health Services.
The position reports directly to the Nurse Unit Manager and indirectly to the Nursing Director and Director of Nursing.What you'll be doingYou will support the theatre and CSSD team in activities that ensure the provision of a safe and efficient sterilising service.
You will also participate in hospital quality management systems in the unit to ensure a continuous improvement focus.
Your enthusiasm and skills will see you seamlessly integrate into this outstanding team, assisting to provide an exceptional level of care.About youThe successful applicant will possess:Must hold / OR Be enrolled in a Certificate III in Sterilisation Services (mandatory)Relevant experience and knowledge in undertaking Sterile Services functions at an operational level within a Hospital or other large organisationsAn understanding of a commitment to the Mater Mission, Values and their practical relevance to Sterile Services issuesEffective communication skills with staff, customers and service partners and the ability to function as part of a multidisciplinary teamExperience in Risk Management and Continuous Quality Improvement Systems and a commitment to the introduction of Best PracticeExperience in Workplace Health and Safety issues in Sterile ServicesExperience in loan set processing highly advantageousMater is Queensland's largest not-for-profit healthcare provider, delivering exceptional care to nearly 700,000 patients each year across 11 (soon to be 12) hospitals.
