Join the Information Access Unit at Metro South Hospital and Health Service, based at Princess Alexandra Hospital. Provide high-quality administrative support to manage patient information access requests in line with legislative and privacy requirements! Permanent and Temporary full-time available!
About the Role
As an Administration Officer within the Information Access Unit, you will play a key role in supporting patients, consumers, health professionals and external agencies with access to medical records and health information.
In this role, you will:
* Manage patient and consumer enquiries via phone, email and in person
* Assess, register and prioritise information access requests
* Verify identity and authority prior to processing requests
* Process certificates, insurance forms and medical documentation
* Retrieve, scan and prepare records for release, court or police requests
* Coordinate Subpoenas, Summons and Search Warrant documentation
About You
You are a customer-focused administrator who understands the importance of confidentiality, accuracy and compliance when handling sensitive health information.
You will bring:
* Experience in administrative or records-based roles
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines
* High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
* Experience using information systems to track and retrieve data
* Understanding of privacy, confidentiality and legislative requirements

Princess Alexandra Hospital:
The Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) is a tertiary health care centre providing care in most major adult specialties. We provide world class health care to Brisbane City's southern suburbs across emergency, medical, mental health and surgical services, including liver and kidney transplant.
We are nationally recognised for our expertise in trauma management and organ transplants and are one of Australia's leading academic and research health centres. The PAH as a major medical research precinct hosts Australia's most advanced medical research facility, the Translational Research Institute (TRI) as well as a new Clinical Research Facility for the discoveries made at TRI to be trialed in a safe clinical environment.
We're expanding our hospital to make sure everyone gets the care they need. We're adding more beds, modernising our buildings, and improving our spaces to treat kidney and cancer patients with all new services and facilities planned to open by 2027.
