Primary Objective
The Professional Development and Training Manager is responsible for developing, publishing and co‐ordinating production and quality assurance of professional learning resources in collaboration with Student Engagement Programs and Services. This includes coordinating and delivering face‐to‐face and online professional development and training for school and corporate staff.
Context Statement
Engagement Programs, Performance and Reporting is responsible for developing strategic, evidence‐based, and data‐informed initiatives to support priority students, and students at risk of disengaging from education, with place‐based approaches that are culturally appropriate, and trauma informed.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Develop, deliver and evaluate quality professional learning, support and induction programs to improve student attendance and engagement staff capabilities.
* Develop and maintain training materials to support the work of dedicated student attendance and engagement staff.
* Develop and maintain effective and timely communication with schools and other relevant corporate stakeholders to ensure the delivery of responsive and contextualised training and services across the Northern Territory.
* Design, deliver and evaluate training and support programs to build the capacity of staff, including developing support materials, online tutorials and authorising tools to assist staff to self‐learn.
* Conduct user research, analyse and prepare training evaluation reports and provide recommendations to address areas for improvement, such as standards, methods, content, tools and applications.
* Support continuous improvement and a client‐centred approach to service delivery, including fostering place‐based support initiatives.
Selection Criteria
Essential
* Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering training applying a blended approach in a variety of contexts including one‐on‐one, small group and large group forums, following a facilitator guide, in line with agreed training delivery processes and standards, implementation plans and schedules.
* Develop, implement and evaluate comprehensive training that support strategies and plans regarding supporting students to attend school and engage in education and learning.
* Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with proven ability to adapt delivery styles to suit a variety of audiences within a cross‐cultural context.
* Demonstrated understanding of research methodologies, data analysis and evaluation to provide evidence‐based recommendations to resolve problems, improve work practices and support change within the workplace.
* Demonstrated ability to work as an effective team member and to leverage the specialist expertise of self and others to achieve outcomes for clients.
* Proven experience successfully building and maintaining productive working relationships with stakeholders and clients.
Desirable
* Sound knowledge of current research, legislations, policies, and practices in relation to improving attendance and engagement of compulsory school‐aged students.
