Overview
We are seeking an experienced Hydraulic Engineer to take ownership of the design, verification, and delivery of hydraulic building services projects. This role places a strong emphasis on Design Verification Plan & Report (DVPR) compliance, ensuring all systems meet industry standards and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and documentation of hydraulic systems including: potable water, sanitary drainage, stormwater, roof drainage, and gas reticulation.
- Prepare and maintain Design Verification Plans & Reports (DVPR) for assigned projects.
- Undertake hydraulic modelling, calculations, and system verification.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, electrical, fire, civil/structural).
- Conduct inspections, testing, and commissioning activities.
- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and drafters.
- Ensure compliance with NCC, AS/NZS 3500, and relevant codes.
About You
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent).
- 5+ years’ experience in hydraulic building services design and documentation.
- Proven experience with DVPR (Design Verification Plan & Report) or equivalent compliance/verification documentation.
- Strong technical knowledge of AS/NZS 3500 and NCC.
- Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam).
- Skilled registration highly desirable (CPEng, RPEQ, NER, or Design Practitioner – Hydraulic ).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
