What is our Staff Development Nurserole?

As part ofthe Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU), Staff Development Nursepractises under the direction of the relevant Senior RegisteredNurse(s) in keeping with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery BoardRegistration Standards and Nursing Practice Decision Flowchart;provides ongoing assessment of the knowledge and skills of nursingstaff in designated ward/unit; plans and implements education andtraining programs and participation in the planning andimplementation of hospital wide Staff Development programs;provides support for new staff, including orientation, coaching andpreceptorship. Provides clinical knowledge and expertise within theclinical areas. Upholds and functions within the core values of theorganisation and nursing values of Care, Respect, Innovation,Teamwork & Integrity.

Located at the Queen Elizabeth II Medical Centre 4kmfrom Perth city centre, SCGH provides a comprehensive range ofclinical services including trauma, emergency and critical care,orthopaedics, general medicine, general surgery, and cardiac care.It is home to WA's only comprehensive cancer centre - the largestcancer treatment centre in the State - and is the State's principalhospital for neurosurgery and liver transplants.

Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill theabove vacancy, it may also be used to fill other \"similar\"vacancies throughout the health service. In addition to this,should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertisedvacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selectedfrom this process. Both of these options remain valid for a periodof twelve (12) months from when the authorised delegate endorsesthe recruitment decision.
