Associate Lecturer in Construction Management – Teaching and Research
UNSW School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, invites applications for an Associate Lecturer in Construction Management. This Teaching and Research role is intended to cover the responsibilities of an academic staff member who has been seconded to another role for the duration of that appointment.
Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality teaching and research in construction management, with emphasis on digital technologies, data sciences, and IoT, including BIM, smart infrastructure, and data-driven decision-support.
* Contribute to a leader in construction management by driving innovation in sustainable infrastructure, digital construction technologies, and integrated project delivery methods.
* Join a dynamic research environment and a facilities and faculty that support excellence in teaching and research.
* Report to the Head of School; this role has no direct reports.
Qualifications and Skills
* A PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience.
* Commitment to staying up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.
* Experience and passion for teaching and learning design, development and/or delivery at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
* Knowledge of educational technologies and online delivery methods.
* Experience engaging students and fostering independent learning through meaningful assessment and constructive feedback.
* Evidence of ongoing professional development of teaching practice.
* Ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and contribute to equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives.
* Ability to undertake high-quality academic research and conduct independent research with limited supervision.
* Track record of publications and conference presentations relative to opportunity.
* Ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines, and build effective relationships.
* Strong interpersonal skills and alignment with UNSW's aims, objectives and values.
* Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to health and safety training.
Contract and Location
* Level A, Salary: $113,911 to $121,838 per annum + 17% superannuation
* Full time
* Fixed-term contract – ASAP start until August 2028
* Location: Kensington, Sydney, Australia
