In this role, you will provide patient‐centred care within your EN scope of practice and support the mission and values of St John of God Health Care.You will deliver comprehensive nursing care, assist with coordinating patient needs, and help support junior staff and students. Our mental health services care for voluntary patients with conditions such as depression, anxiety, borderline personality disorder, OCD and related presentations.The role supports a **25–31 bed adult mental health unit** and an **8–12 bed psychiatric trauma unit**, working closely with a multidisciplinary team.**Key Details:*** Provide holistic, patient‐centred nursing care* Support and guide junior caregivers and students* Work across specialised adult mental health inpatient settings* **Shifts:** 8:00am – 4:00pmIf you are passionate about high‐quality care and want to work in a supportive, values‐driven team, we encourage you to apply.**The Position*** Accepts accountability for professional conduct of self within scope of practice* Ensures that all documentation is accurate, legible and completed in a professional and timely manner and recorded in relevant hospital and/or patient medical records.* Acts as a role model and resource person for nursing students and nursing colleagues. Aligns theoretical knowledge with clinical practice.* Conducts direct care and treatment by performing nursing assessments including mental state examinations and risks assessments.* Develops and evaluates nursing care plans in collaboration with patients/carer and the inter-displinary team.* Participates in the nursing process with each individual patient and documents changes in the care plan as required using a bio-psycho-social-spiritual approach.* Provide support, supervision and counselling to allocated daily patient load.You will have a registration with Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as an Enrolled Nurse and the ability to work effectively and harmoniously within the team. You will possess effective verbal and written communication skills, the ability to problem solve or seek help from appropriate resources and the aptitude to implement care plans under the direction of a Registered Nurse.To succeed you will have relevant clinical practice skills and commitment to ongoing professional education.
