Job Summary:
Serco offers a challenging and rewarding career as a Correctional Case Officer in the Clarence Correctional Centre, Australia's largest correctional facility. You will play a key role in supervising, managing, and supporting inmates while ensuring safety, security, and rehabilitation in a respectful and structured environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supervise and manage inmates while promoting rehabilitation and reintegration
* Conduct searches, monitor inmate activities, and maintain a structured, secure environment
* Use communication and problem-solving skills to defuse tense situations and maintain order
* Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure inmate welfare
Requirements:
* A willingness to obtain Certificate III in Correctional Practice (training provided)
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with inmates and staff
* Resilience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm under pressure
* Problem-solving skills and sound judgment in high-pressure situations
* Physical fitness to meet the demands of the role
* A valid Driver's Licence
