Job Description
Developing electronic systems and components to use within equipment or machinery; supports other engineers to perform tasks when necessary.
Responsibilities
* Development and execution of test plans for underground mining machines, autonomy systems, and technology software.
* Investigation, data collection and reporting of product issues to the subsystem level and assisting in the resolution.
* Planning and improving testing procedures and operations to make tests more reliable, efficient, and cost effective.
* Maintaining and operating Caterpillar technology proving grounds to be available for demonstration, training, and product validation.
Key Skills Required
* Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
* Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviours.
* Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
* Technical Excellence: Knowledge of mining machine, networking, software, or radios and how they are applied in mining; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.
* Product Testing: Knowledge of product testing approaches, techniques, and tools; ability to design, plan and execute testing strategies and tactics to ensure product quality
* Troubleshooting Technical Problems : Knowledge of troubleshooting approaches, tools, and techniques; ability to anticipate, detect and resolve technical problems in a product development environment.
Basic Qualifications
* Degree or equivalent experience desired
* At least 5 years of professional job-related experience
