**The Unit**
The Crisis Response & Recovery unit leads state-level preparedness and response to disaster and emergencies arising from a range of hazards. The Crisis Response & Recovery unit also ensures strategic development, implementation and evaluation of best practice policies, programs, and projects to support the achievement of the NSW Department of Education's objectives in relation to emergency and incident preparedness and response coordination.
**Purpose of the role**
The Policy Officer will be required to provide a wide range of policy management coordination and administration for the team. This may include preparing discussion papers, briefs and submissions whilst also preparing and reviewing the content of policy advise to ensure it complies with Departmental standards.
You will be working with members of your team as well as facilitate and maintain stakeholder engagement whilst consulting on policy issues. You will need to have the ability to undertake research and identify any room for improvements to deliver a favourable outcome to operational effectiveness.
