Job Description
National placement coordination is a critical role that involves ensuring the smooth administration of student clinical and practicum placements across the School of Nursing nationally.
The National Placement Coordination role requires effective collaboration with academic and professional staff, placement providers, and regulatory bodies to ensure placements are planned, administered, and monitored in line with course requirements, accreditation standards, contractual agreements, and university policy.
This role is responsible for managing national placements for nursing students, supervising placement administration staff, building strong relationships with students, staff, and stakeholders, and coordinating student briefings and orientation materials for placements.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage national placements for nursing students, including planning, administering, and monitoring placements to ensure compliance with course requirements and accreditation standards.
* Supervise placement administration staff, providing training and support to manage placements efficiently and effectively.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with students, staff, and stakeholders to ensure smooth placement processes and provide excellent customer service.
* Collaborate with academic staff to align curriculum needs with placement administration, ensuring that student learning outcomes are met.
* Liaise with external partners to facilitate placement agreements and relationship management, ensuring that partnership arrangements are mutually beneficial.
* Coordinate student briefings and orientation materials for placements, ensuring that students have the necessary information and resources to succeed.
* Oversee administrative processes, including requests, scheduling, onboarding, offers, and allocation through placement systems, ensuring efficient and effective use of resources.
* Maintain accurate records, ensuring data integrity and compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
* Develop and maintain placement guidelines, policies, and procedures, ensuring that they are up-to-date and compliant with relevant legislation and regulations.
* Monitor contract status and maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements, ensuring that placements are delivered in accordance with agreed-upon terms.
* Review and prepare placement cost projections, ensuring that costs are accurately forecasted and managed within budget.
Requirements
* Administrative experience or degree; or extensive coordination experience; or broad experience in administrative roles; or equivalent combination of education/training and experience.
* Proven experience in coordinating complex processes and systems, preferably in higher education or health settings, demonstrating ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Leadership skills with ability to delegate tasks, support team development, and foster a collaborative work environment, promoting a positive and inclusive culture.
* High organisational skills with competing priorities, deadlines, and stakeholder needs, ensuring that tasks are prioritised and completed efficiently and effectively.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills for internal and external liaison, ensuring effective collaboration and communication with all stakeholders.
* Accuracy and attention to detail in data management and reporting, ensuring that data is accurate and reliable.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience using placement or student management systems, ensuring efficient and effective use of technology.
