We have been selected by the Australian Government to jointly build the nation's conventionally armed, nuclear-powered submarines. Every role in our SSN AUKUS team helps deliver essential sovereign capability for Australia.

Recognised for delivering projects of global and national significance that help keep Australia safe, it is our shared passion that shapes our culture, and our people that make it a great place to work.

About the OPPORTUNITY

We have an excellent opportunity for a Data Analytics and Insights Manager based in Adelaide.

In early 2024, the Australian Government selected BAE Systems and ASC Pty Ltd to build Australia's new fleet of nuclear-powered submarines, a significant development in the AUKUS trilateral security pact between the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia.

We are seeking dedicated professionals passionate about leading defence innovation and working in a highly collaborative, global team environment. This program focuses on developing advanced submarine capabilities, integrating cutting-edge technology, and fostering international cooperation among Australia, the UK, and the US. As we enter the mobilisation phase of the contract, your expertise will be vital in developing strategic plans that translate into actionable outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Lead the development of the Analytics & Insight strategy and roadmap aligned with project objectives.
2. Manage end-to-end delivery of analytics projects, including scoping, data exploration, model development, validation, and insight communication.
3. Manage the technology stack that delivers the Analytics and Insights capability.
4. Design and maintain reporting frameworks, dashboards, and KPIs to track performance and opportunities.
5. Lead a team of analysts and data storytellers; provide mentoring, coaching, and performance management.
6. Partner with business units to understand challenges and translate them into analytical problems.
7. Ensure analytical outputs are accurate, timely, and compliant with governance, ethical, and regulatory standards.
8. Stay current with emerging analytics trends, tools, and technologies.

About YOU

* Demonstrated experience leading a team in a complex, regulated environment.
* Proficiency in data analysis, visualization, and storytelling using tools like Power BI, Tableau, Python, R, or SQL.
* Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence and drive change.
* Proven track record in developing high-performing teams and managing complex workloads.
* Knowledge of data governance, privacy, and ethical AI principles.
* Negative Vetting Level 1 Defence security & ITAR clearance required.

We encourage candidates to apply even if they don't meet all criteria, as we hire for potential.
