The Demand Planner forecasts demand for retail products to ensure they can be available and delivered for customers. The goal of the position is to hit a balance between having sufficient inventory levels to meet customer needs, without having a surplus. The Demand Planner will ensure that these levels are consistently met in a cost-effective manner.Analyzing historical sales data, market trends, and other relevant factors to create accurate and reliable demand forecasts for products or services.Develop and generate accurate demand forecasts for products or services using advanced Forecasting techniques, statistical models, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.Maintain optimal inventory levels by ensuring that stock levels are in line with SRI Budget requirements, projected demand, preventing stockouts and overstock situations.Evaluate and account for demand variability due to factors such as promotions, product launches, economic trends, and external market influence.Continuously monitor forecast accuracy and adjust models and processes as needed to improve the reliability of predictions.Identify potential risks and opportunities related to demand fluctuations and work on strategies to mitigate negative impacts and capitalize on positive trends.Provide input to the supply planning organization in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outsWhat you will need to be successfulProven experience in demand planning and forecasting, preferably in a similar industry or role.Proficiency in statistical analysis and forecasting software/tools.Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across departments.Ability to interpret complex data and trends to make informed decisions.Problem-solving mindset with the ability to handle uncertainty and changing circumstances.Knowledge of supply chain operations and inventory management principles.What you will get in returnThis is a permanent position, with the salary of $110,000 plus super, depending on experience.What you need to do nextIf you meet the criteria above and can start immediately, please send your resume to hannah.alexander@hays.com.au or call Hannah Alexander on 02 8860 1643.
