**THE OPPORTUNITY**
Downer's **Energy & Utilities**business has opportunities for casual **Mechanical Fitters**for the Tarong Power Station outage **.**Commencing **mid-September 2025**, Downer will be working on a Hitachi steam turbine supporting with four main areas of scope - Valves, Turbine, Generator and Auxiliaries. In this role, you'll disassemble, inspect, and reassemble steam turbines and valves, work with auxiliary systems, interpret technical drawings, and ensure precise alignment and safety compliance.
**ABOUT YOU**Site Proficient**:Previous outage and project experience in the power generation or heavy industrial sector**Technical Skills**:Proven experience working on steam turbines and valves, including inspection and measurement of critical components**Team Oriented**:Have an ability to work effectively within a team with well-developed communication skills**Workplace Safety**:Committed to safety and wellbeing of yourself and your colleagues**Trade Qualified**:Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade, or equivelant**Hold Valid Tickets**:Enter and work in confined spaces (RIIWHS202E) & Working at heights (RIIWHS204E) (within 2 years), Construction white card, Rights to work in Australia.
