About the Business Unit The Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS) provides a range of government programs and services focused on improving community safety, victim services, regulatory services and crime prevention, and building strong collaboration across the justice system. Courts, Civil and Criminal Law (CCCL) supports the Attorney-General and DJCS ministers to deliver criminal and civil law, integrity and court services policy responsibilities by providing legal and policy expertise to DJCS and Justice Ministers, working collaboratively with key entities across the justice system and the department. The Courts and Justice System Reform (CJSR) business unit leads strategic court and justice system reform relevant to the Attorney-General's first law officer responsibilities, including policy, strategic projects, legislation, judicial appointments, budget, sector support and development, and national agreements relating to legal assistance, and key Attorney-General entities across the justice system. About the Role The Project Lead is responsible for leading the team responsible for leading the Project, including managing a project team, co-ordination, research, development, implementation and review of project outcomes. Duties will include: * Leading, motivating and managing a team of multi-disciplinary staff to deliver solution-focused advice and outcomes on major policy, strategy, budget, finance and performance projects and initiatives that aligns with the department's priorities. * Providing expert and authoritative advice to the senior executives and government on major budget, finance, performance, policy and strategic reform issues, which cut across multiple portfolios within a dynamic and complex policy and stakeholder environment. * Effectively engaging, consulting and working collaboratively with our partners across the department and the broader justice system to deliver on major projects and priorities. About you To be successful in this role, you will have: * Demonstrated experience in leading and managing the development and delivery of large scale policy, strategy and reform projects. * Demonstrated knowledge and experience in leading and managing budget and performance teams, including driving financial and performance improvements. * People leadership and management experience Qualifications * A relevant tertiary qualification in Law, Public Policy, Economics, Accounting or Finance is highly desirable.
