Our approach is non-pathologizing —we focus on what happened, not what's wrong.
We meet clients where they are while also working at a deep level to address root causes for lasting change.This is a face-to-face role, with online sessions available only when requested by the client.
While we provide Australia-wide services via Zoom, this position is primarily in-person at either our Highgate or Midland locations —you can choose which location suits you best.We are looking for someone committed to long-term growth with the practice.
We value loyalty, professional development, and a team-oriented mindset while providing a strong referral stream and collaborative support.What We OfferFully furnished, modern therapy rooms in shared buildings with other practitioners.A strong referral stream – start with half a day and grow as demand increases.Set shifts negotiated to fit practice needs.Choice of location – Highgate (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday) or Midland (Saturdays / Sundays).A collaborative team environment – informal peer support, regular team meetings, and ongoing contact.Long-term growth opportunities – for therapists looking to build stability and grow within the practice.What We RequireMinimum 18 months of clinical experience in trauma therapy.EMDR & Parts Work (IFS, Ego State Therapy, or Resource Therapy) training is required – if not already trained, you must be willing to complete training at your own cost through the practice's chosen providers.Training for either EMDR or Parts Work must begin within 3-6 months, depending on client load.
You can start working with clients while training, using your existing skills while integrating new techniques.Registered Counselling Psychologist (must submit own Medicare rebates)ACA Level 2 or abovePACFA Clinical MembershipMinimum qualification : Bachelor of Counselling (or higher).This is a face-to-face role —Zoom sessions are available for Australia-wide clients, but in-person work is the priority.Comfort and experience working with sexual difficulties, including desire issues, intimacy concerns, and relational dynamics.Experience working with clients in kink, poly, and alternative relationship structures.Couples therapy experience is desirable but not required.Contractor Terms & Responsibilities60 / 40 split (to therapist), including superannuation, which is held and paid by the practice.Therapists are responsible for their own tax, BAS / GST (if applicable), and financial obligations.Contractors must pay for their own training, supervision, professional development, and any required CPD hours.You must provide your own professional indemnity insurance, registration fees, and first aid certification.Deliver high-quality trauma and sex therapy using EMDR, Parts Work, and your preferred modalities.Support clients with sexual difficulties related to trauma, nervous system dysregulation, and relational challenges.Work with NDIS & private clients in a non-pathologizing, nervous-system-focused practice.Work set shifts, starting at half a day and increasing as the client load grows.Engage in the team culture – attend informal peer support, team meetings, and professional discussions.How to ApplyIf this sounds like the right role for you, let's talk.Send your CV along with a short introduction about your therapy approach to (emailprotected) or DM me for a confidential chat.This is an opportunity to do deep trauma and sex therapy work in a practice that supports both you and your clients —and to grow within a team that values loyalty and professional commitment.
