**Job Title: Worker Compensation Specialist (Part -time)**
**Reports to: Senior HR Manager ANZ**
**Location: Melbourne**
**Part-time: 2 or 3 days a week**
**How will you make an impact?**
As the worker compensation specialist for Australia and New Zealand, you will manage and process worker compensation claims, ensuring all our obligations under the relevant legislation are met. This role will manage, assess the claim for worker compensation, liaising with an external vendor as well as internally with HR, EHS and payroll. Key learnings from incidents ought to be shared proactively with the EHS team, driving towards a culture of incident prevention.
**What will you do?**
- To manage workers compensation insurance claims and return to work strategies for injured employees across Australia & New Zealand in a professional and timely manner
- Conduct proactive analysis of worker compensation claims, to provide trend analysis and identification of emerging risks and lessons.
- Ensure all regulatory timeframes are met including claim lodgement and the
- Ensure that active and timely intervention occurs to improve recovery and return to work outcomes
- Develop ongoing injury reporting including severity rates
- Provide claims statistics and data to support premium renewals.
- Providing clear guidance and support to the employees
- Assist with identifying suitable duties and development of return-to-work plans
- Liaise with treating practitioners and other external stakeholders to assist with the prompt return to work
- Provide advice to injured workers and managers on best practice case management
- Collaborate closely with the EHS, HR, payroll team as well as the external broker
- Manage a portfolio of complex workers compensation insurance claims across a diverse range of industries.
**How will you get here?**
**Experience**:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in workers compensation claims management
- Experienced and knowledgeable about the different state practices and requirements across Australia and New Zealand.
- A sound knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational skills
- Able to work autonomously
- Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
