As you progress through the programme, you will experience a diverse range of challenges and opportunities, from servicing and inspections to complex repairs and diagnostics. You will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing vehicles to the highest standard, utilizing your technical skills and knowledge to deliver exceptional results.
Throughout your career development journey, you will learn from experienced mentors and colleagues, as well as college lecturers, gaining the skills and confidence to succeed in a fast-paced workshop environment.
You will have the opportunity to work independently, managing your own workload and prioritizing tasks effectively. However, you will also be part of a team, working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve shared goals and objectives.
The nature of the work is varied, ranging from replacing simple parts to solving complex faults using diagnostic methods and equipment. Your expertise will lie in both technical and diagnostic aspects, with a strong grasp of vehicle systems.
Key qualifications and skills required include GCSEs in Maths and English at Grade C or above (or equivalents). Desirable skills include a friendly, helpful and team-orientated approach, interest in cars and problem-solving, ability to use hands and manual labour, and knowledge of motor vehicle maintenance.
