For this position it is a genuine occupational requirement that it be filled by an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person as permitted by and arguable under sections 25, 104 and 105 of the Queensland Anti-Discrimination Act (1991).

**Who are we looking for?**
We are seeking a Indigenous Australians Engagement Officer to join Indigenous Australians, Chancellery Division.

The Indigenous Australians Engagement Officer (Communications and Media) is responsible for developing and executing communication strategies to enhance the Portfolio's visibility and engagement with key stakeholders including Indigenous Australian representatives. The position will work closely with various teams to ensure consistent messaging and effective stakeholder engagement. The position is responsible for developing and responding to communication on the behalf of the Portfolio, and engaging in project work and stakeholder relations that support the implementation and facilitation of the Indigenous Australian engagement priority. In addition, the position will play a significant role in supporting a range of university activities and events, working collaboratively with stakeholders internal and external to QUT.

**What you need to succeed**
- Completion of or extensive progress towards undergraduate qualifications in education, training or social sciences with relevant experience working in these fields.?
- Demonstrated experience working with Indigenous Australian peoples and their communities.
- Demonstrated ability to liaise with and effectively manage relationships with diverse groups of stakeholders (both internal and external).
- High level of written and oral communication skills including experience in developing social media content and external communication pieces.
- Demonstrated time management and organisational skills including the ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure to meet deadlines with minimum supervision.
- Proven digital literacy skills including the ability to use a range of databases and software packages.
