Part-time Finance Officer/Office Administrator

We are a warm and inclusive Children's Centre comprising community-based childcare & Department for Education Preschool, committed to providing high-quality early childhood education and care. We are currently seeking an experienced Finance Officer/Administrator to join our dedicated team on a part-time basis, three days per week. This role will be in line with Clerks-Private Sector Award 2020 Level 5.

The successful candidate will be responsible for administrative leadership with key financial responsibilities. They will have the ability to manage their time effectively between bookkeeping, administration duties & responding to parent enquiries.

There will be a supportive induction & training process to enable you to learn our systems and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage day-to-day financial operations using MYOB and Microsoft Excel
- Administer and reconcile Child Care Subsidy (CCS) payments and reporting
- Answering & directing telephone calls
- Process child care and preschool enrolments using approved systems
- Process accounts payable and receivable, and bank reconciliations
- Processing superannuation & payroll tax
- Preparation of quarterly BAS
- Lodgement of monthly superannuation
- Maintain accurate financial records and assist with budget preparation
- Preparing financial reports and reporting these at monthly Management Committee meetings
- Provide administrative support to the Director and Management Committee
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial and regulatory requirements
- Maintain HR records, certifications & training documentation
- Demonstrated experience in financial administration, preferably in a child care or not-for-profit setting
- Minimum of 3-5 years of financial administration experience required
- Proficiency in MYOB and Microsoft Excel
- General bookkeeping level proficiency in MYOB required
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Current Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- Australian work authorisation required for this position
- Sound understanding of the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) system
- Experience using the ATO portal

Desirable Qualifications:

- Certificate or Diploma in Bookkeeping, Frontline Office Management, or related field
