A well-established, high-volume hospitality venue in Western Australia is seeking an experienced Senior Venue Manager to take ownership of day-to-day venue operations, team leadership, and service delivery across a large restaurant and bar operation.

This is a confidential appointment and has not yet been advertised publicly. The role suits a hands‑on, floor-focused hospitality leader who enjoys being present in the business, leading from the front, and balancing people leadership with commercial awareness.

The venue operates seasonally and manages a large casual workforce within a traditional pub‑style operating environment, using a mix of paper‑based and digital systems.


About the Role

The Senior Venue Manager is responsible for the overall performance of a high‑capacity restaurant and bar venue, working closely with ownership and senior leadership to ensure smooth service, strong team culture, and effective cost control.

While supported by department managers and supervisors, this role remains highly operational and visible, with a strong emphasis on floor leadership, staff engagement, and service standards. Limited accommodation‑related oversight may be introduced to the role over time.


Key Responsibilities

* Lead the daily operation of the restaurant, bar, and floor service teams
* Ensure consistent service standards, venue presentation, and customer experience
* Act as the senior escalation point for guest and operational issues
* People & Culture
* Lead, coach, and support a large team of approximately 90‑100 staff
* Manage department managers, duty managers, supervisors, and senior team members
* Foster a positive, accountable, and engaged team culture
* Oversee onboarding, training, performance management, and staff development
* Rostering & Labour Control
* Prepare and manage rosters in line with the Hospitality Industry (General) Award
* Monitor labour costs and productivity to meet agreed targets
* Ensure accurate time and attendance approvals and award compliance
* Commercial Awareness & Reporting
* Maintain visibility over key commercial drivers including labour and COGS
* Contribute to regular reporting on venue performance and cost control
* Work collaboratively with senior leadership to achieve budgets and KPIs
* Support stock control, ordering practices, and wastage management
* Systems & Ways of Working
* Operate confidently within a mix of paper‑based and digital systems
* Communicate primarily through face‑to‑face engagement and on‑site briefings
* Contribute ideas to improve efficiency, workflow, and service delivery
* Support gradual operational improvements where appropriate
* Compliance & Safety
* Ensure compliance with liquor licensing, food safety, WHS, RSA, and Fair Work requirements
* Oversee incident reporting, safety procedures, and venue compliance standards
* Identify opportunities to enhance service, staff engagement, and operational efficiency
* Support venue projects, procedural improvements, and future initiatives
* Work collaboratively with ownership on ideas and improvements


About You

* Proven experience as a Venue Manager or Senior Hospitality Manager in a high‑volume venue
* Demonstrated ability to lead large teams (50+ staff) in busy service environments
* Strong understanding of rostering, labour control, and award compliance
* Sound commercial awareness, particularly around labour and COGS
* Confident, hands‑on leadership style with strong communication skills
* Comfortable working in traditional hospitality environments with established systems
* RSA and Approved Manager certification
* Availability to work evenings, weekends, and peak trading periods
* Experience in pub, tavern, or bar‑focused venues
* Exposure to H&L or similar hospitality systems
* Experience managing seasonal trade patterns
* Hospitality management qualifications
