Gippsland Primary Health Network (Gippsland PHN) is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified applicants to fill four upcoming vacancies on the Gippsland PHN Board. The Board Director positions, two elected and two appointed, commence in November 2025.
Gippsland PHN is looking for individuals with the qualifications, knowledge, experience, and attributes that will contribute to the organisation achieving its vision of a measurably healthier Gippsland. We are looking for strategic thinkers with a strong commitment to improving health outcomes across our diverse region. About Gippsland PHN
Gippsland PHN is a public company limited by guarantee incorporated under the Corporations Act. We are part of a national structure of 31 PHNs across Australia. Since 2015, Gippsland PHN has been committed to improving health outcomes for the people of Gippsland. Our vision and strategic purpose have been, and remain, a “Measurably Healthier Gippsland”.
Gippsland PHN is an independent, not-for-profit organisation; a trusted and credible source of information, a vehicle for collaboration, and strong advocate, essential to local decision-making. We have three primary functions:
• Coordinate and integrate local health care services in collaboration with Local Hospital Networks to improve quality of care, people's experience and efficient use of resources.
• Commission primary care and mental health services to address population health needs and gaps in service delivery and to improve access and equity.
• Capacity strengthen and provide practice support to primary care and mental health providers to support quality care delivery.
About the role
As a Board Director, you’ll contribute to identifying new opportunities, guiding strategy, and ensuring that our work continues to make a meaningful impact across Gippsland.
Gippsland PHN Board Directors are responsible for the governance and strategic direction of Gippsland PHN. This includes oversight of our legal, financial and statutory obligations, and ensuring compliance with our funding and regulatory requirements. As part of the skills matrix process, preference will be provided to applicants who can demonstrate skills, experience, or capability in the following key areas:
· Legal, Risk and Compliance.
· Primary Care/General Practice Clinician
· Primary Care/Health system
