The Role
The Medical Oncology Consultant provides top-tier clinical care to patients in the Medical Oncology Department, demonstrating excellence in individual performance and leadership within a multidisciplinary care team.
They are involved in teaching medical students, trainee medical officers, and relevant nursing and allied health professionals.
The role also includes participation in clinical audits, quality and safety management, clinical risk assessment, research activities, and ongoing medical education.
The Hospital
The largest regional health service between Sydney and Melbourne, serving a catchment population of 250,000 with over 2,000 staff.
The hospital is undergoing a $600M redevelopment, including a new ED and short stay unit, scheduled for completion by 2027.
The ED features 20 treatment areas, including 4 consulting rooms, a plaster room, an eye room, 12 general cubicles, and 2 resuscitation beds.
It is also the regional Trauma Centre.

The Requirements
To apply, you must meet one of the following criteria:Registered with AHPRA with at least 12 months recent experience in Medical Oncology
On RACP training program within 6 months of completing fellowship
Hold or be eligible for the FRACP
IMG eligible for Competent Authority Pathway (UK, Ireland, Canada, USA, NZ)
IMG with RACP interview date
IMG assessed by RACP as substantially comparable
