Hills Housing & Disability Services (HHDS) seeks a new intake of casual Disability Support workers for shifts of all hours across a 7 day schedule.
SCHADS Award rates apply, including casual loading and increased rates for late shift, weekends, and Public Hols.
We have multiple roles available for:
In-Home support only, OR
In-Home and Social Community work
Purpose
Quality, customised care for people living with a disability. Assist with daily living tasks, community inclusion and participation activities. Support clients to maintain wellbeing, explore opportunities, and work towards agreed outcomes.
· personal care, health and well-being, community inclusion, meal preparation, independent living skills
· increase capacity, independence, and community connections
· maintain client records, data collection and reports in a professional manner
· additional duties as directed
Requirements
· An understanding and commitment to the rights of people living with a disability
· Comply with the National Disability Insurance Scheme Act 2013 and the NDIS Code of Conduct Rules 2018, and all HHDS Policies and Procedures
· Manual handling competency: lifting, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling and repetitive actions
· Effective communication, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills
Pre-requisite and ongoing requirements
· Drivers Licence and car insurance
· DHS Clearance for Working with Children
· NDIS Worker Screening (this is an NDIS RISK ASSESSED ROLE)
· Minimum Certificate III qualification in Individual Support, Aged Care, Child Care, Social or Community Services, or a Healthcare related field
· NDIS Code of Conduct specified Mandatory Online Training (certificates) https://training.ndiscommission.gov.au/
· Assist with Medication (certificate), refresher update every 12 months
· Manual Handling (certificate), refresher update every 24 months
· Infection Control (certificate), refresher update every 24 months
Desired but not essential certificates include First Aid, CPR, Epilepsy support, Safe Food Handling, etc.
