Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Coding Quality Professional to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to make a significant impact in enhancing healthcare quality and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct regular audits to ensure accurate clinical coding implementation and adherence to established standards.
* Develop and implement coding quality improvement initiatives, providing timely advice and feedback to the team.
* Identify training needs and deliver education sessions for staff and trainee coders.
* Mentor and support Mater Coders and student HIM/Clinical coding placements.
* Analyze and validate data related to coding and DRG classification.
* Collaborate with advisors and stakeholders to resolve complex coding scenarios and implement changes for new casemix.
* Perform advanced coding duties as needed to meet completion KPIs.
* Test new software versions and provide expertise in key systems.
* Advise on opportunities for coding quality improvement and develop strategies accordingly.
About You
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Clinical Coding, including a relevant qualification and at least 5 years of experience using current editions of ICD-10 AM and ACHI. They will possess sound knowledge of Australian Coding standards and AR-DRGs.
Requirements:
* Bachelor of Health Information Management or Clinical Coding Qualification
* At least 5 years' experience in Clinical Coding
* Demonstrated experience in quality activities and audits
* Expert knowledge of Coding quality and audit activities
* Comprehensive working knowledge of current privacy and medico-legal legislation
