Pedestrian Group is searching for a proficient and educated Enterprise Reporter to join the launch team for Australia's first Web3-focused publication.
The Enterprise Reporter might be responsible for pitching and writing insightful, well‐researched news pieces, profile stories, and opinion pieces on key and rising individuals, firms and trends shaping the Web3 space – both positive and negative.
This position is an ideal fit for a Reporter – ideally with a background in tech and/or finance reporting – who has a deep understanding of (and borderline obsession with) blockchain technology and the varied industries it's disrupting.
The Enterprise Reporter might be required to:
* Pitch, analyse, and write various types of content, from breaking news to long‐form investigations
* Conduct deep‐in‐depth interviews with founders, thought leaders and key individuals in the Web3 space
* Meet regularly with key Web3 contacts to build relationships, secure editorial exclusives and ensure the model stays at the forefront of the Web3 community
* Analyse and assess on‐chain and traditional market data to determine trends on which we can provide insightful commentary
* Stay updated with a fast‐moving industry and be fully immersed in the worlds of blockchain and the way it intersects with all industries
* Engage with our team across various social channels, including Discord, Twitter, LinkedIn and more
* Comply with best practices for search‐engine optimisation and social optimisation
The place calls for somebody with:
* Deep knowledge of, and expertise in, blockchain technology, with a strong emphasis on how it intersects with enterprise and industries
* A real and sustained passion for the profession and its future development
* The power to separate truth from fiction, questioning each primary and secondary source
* An understanding of the regulatory environment for financial services in Australia
* Distinctive attention to detail
* Demonstrable writing experience in enterprise markets
* Enthusiasm for experimenting with new storytelling methods (while the position is primarily text‐based, on‐camera work is a bonus)
* A keen understanding of journalistic ethics
This can be a full‐time position primarily based in Australia and will be fully remote (although Pedestrian Group does have offices in Sydney and Melbourne).
