Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
* Advise and brief the Prime Minister and Cabinet on a broad range of policy challenges, including macro- and microeconomic policy, housing, taxation, workplace relations, fiscal policy, and budget and impact analysis processes.
* Provide clear, robust, and well-considered economic analysis to the Prime Minister and Cabinet.
* Work collaboratively across the public service and engage with industry, the community sector, academia, and state/territory governments to provide whole-of-government advice.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Extensive senior executive-level experience in Government.
* Ability to navigate Government processes confidently and sensitively.
* Strong leadership and management skills necessary to enable staff within the Economic Division to deliver outcomes with credibility and integrity.
* Experience supporting strong influencing and negotiation skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* A degree in economics is required for this position.
* Strong understanding of or experience working with economic policy issues is highly desirable.
