Farrell Transport Group is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Officer to join our finance team. This hands‐on role is responsible for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, payroll processing, and general finance administration, supporting the smooth day‐to‐day financial operations of the business.
This full‐time role, based in Pimpama, Queensland, is ideal for someone who takes pride in accuracy, and is comfortable handling a range of accounting and administrative duties to support the smooth financial operations of the business.
What you'll be doing
* Managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
* Processing supplier invoices and ensuring accurate and timely payments
* Chasing and following up outstanding customer payments
* Maintaining accurate customer and supplier accounts
* Reconciling bank accounts, credit cards, and general ledger accounts
* Processing payroll, including weekly timesheets, PAYG, superannuation, and award compliance, managing leave balances and payroll enquiries
* Assisting with month‐end and year‐end close
* Preparing monthly financial reports
* Maintaining accurate financial records, registers, and employee files
* Identifying opportunities to improve accounting processes and controls
* Providing excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders
* Supporting the Finance Manager with ad‐hoc tasks and projects
What we're looking for
* Proven experience as an Accounts Officer, Accounts Administrator, or similar role
* Experience across AP, AR, reconciliations, and payroll processing
* Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
* Proficient in accounting software (Xero) and MS Office
* Excellent communication and customer service skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is highly desirable
* Experience in transport, haulage, or construction is advantageous but not essential
