Bendigo
Gather My Crew
Posted: 13 December
Offer description

Community Engagement & Education Officer

Gather My Crew is Australia's only charity dedicated to making informal care easier, more coordinated, and more sustainable. We help family, friends, and communities turn offers of help into practical, shared, and ongoing support. Our free HelpTech platform and targeted guidance makes it simple to organise meaningful help at home - from delivering meals to offering lifts or checking in emotionally. In rural and regional areas, where distance and limited services can make access harder, we mobilise local networks and embed coordinated informal care into local systems. This means more people get the right help where they live, easing pressure on formal services and building stronger, more connected communities.

Position Purpose

Funded through by the Aged Persons Welfare Foundation, this 0.4 FTE role delivers a 12‑month pilot to improve health and wellbeing outcomes by increasing awareness and uptake of coordinated informal care in the Bendigo region.

The role blends community engagement with health education to:

* Build partnerships with health services, aged care, local government, and community organisations to create sustainable referral pathways into Gather My Crew's free HelpTech platform.
* Increase caring confidence in the community by delivering education sessions and practical skills workshops.
* Strengthen the region's capacity to support people through illness, ageing, disability, and other challenges - reducing isolation and improving outcomes.

By the end of the pilot, the role will have:

* Significantly increased platform users in the region.
* Integrated Gather My Crew into local health service workflows.
* Generated learnings to inform replication in other rural areas.
