Overview
Food Services Assistant – Relief Coordinator/Catering Assistant. Dual role reporting to the Catering Manager, working within a rapid-paced, team-focused environment. Permanent part-time opportunity (60 hours per fortnight).
Successful candidates must be able to work shifts across a 14-day rotating roster, including weekdays, weekends and public holidays, with starts around 05:30–06:30 and 14:30.
Responsibilities
Relief Coordinator
- Coordinating meal plating and meal delivery service
- Monitor workflow and adjust staffing or tasks to maintain service standards
- Assist with induction and orientation of new or casual staff
- Ensure staff follow food safety, hygiene, and infection control protocols
Catering Assistant
- Exceptional customer service; respond to customer information, needs and wants
- Setting up and plating
- Undertake cleaning duties throughout the department and at ward level while complying with HACCP/Food Safety regulations, infection control and hospital standards
- Dishwashing
- Demonstrate a great work ethic and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise workloads
- Be reliable, motivated and have a friendly nature
- Allergy control awareness
- Experience within the healthcare industry is desirable
Remuneration
Base hourly rate of $28.71 + superannuation, exclusive of penalties or allowances.
