Location: Sydney, NSW, Australia (Hybrid/On-site)
Type: Full-Time / Permanent
The Role: Where Tech Meets the Limelight
Are you an IT pro who thrives under the pressure of a "Go Live" countdown? We are "77 Live", Australia's leading event production house, and we're looking for a Computer Network and Systems Engineer to bridge the gap between our corporate HQ and our high-stakes live streaming environments.
In this role, you won't just be "fixing Wi-Fi." You'll be the architect behind the robust, low-latency networks that broadcast major events to global audiences.
You will be the backbone of our technical operations, ensuring our office runs smoothly and our live events never drop a frame.
In the Office:
Manage and maintain our internal servers, workstations, and high-speed storage (NAS/SAN).
Oversee cybersecurity protocols, firewalls (pfsense, Fortinet, etc.), and VPNs.
Optimise internal Wi-Fi and wired networks for a high-bandwidth creative team.
On the Field (Live Events):
Design and deploy temporary event networks for high-quality live streaming (SRT, RTMP, NDI).
Configure managed switches and VLANs to prioritize broadcast traffic over guest Wi-Fi.
Troubleshoot connectivity issues in real-time under the pressure of a live countdown.
Collaborate with video engineers to ensure signal integrity across the signal chain.
Your Mission
Infrastructure Design: Design, install, and maintain high-performance local and wide area networks (LAN/WAN) for both office operations and remote event sites.
Live Stream Mastery: Configure dedicated streaming vLANs and optimize network traffic to ensure 100% uptime for high-bandwidth video delivery.
System Security: Implement rigorous firewalls and security protocols to protect proprietary client data and broadcast feeds.
Troubleshooting: Act as the Tier 3 "firefighter" for complex network outages, often in fast-paced event environments.
Hardware Management: Manage servers, switches (Cisco/Ubiquiti), and cloud integrations (Google Workspace/O365) and other solutions tailored for media workflows.
Who You Are
The Specialist: You have a degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: 6+ years in System Administration or Network Engineering (Event/Broadcast experience is a huge plus).
The Tech Stack: You're a pro with NDI, Dante, and SRT protocols (or eager to master them). You know your way around 10G networks and bonded cellular solutions
Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, and QoS (Quality of Service).
Live Stream Savvy: Familiarity with streaming encoders (vMix, OBS, Teradek) and protocols.
Hardware Hero: Comfortable with Ubiquiti/UniFi, Cisco, or Mikrotik hardware. Includes end-user-systems running on Windows and MacOS and handheld devices on Android and iOS.
The Calm Professional: You can troubleshoot a routing loop while a stage manager is counting down to a broadcast.
Why Join Us?
The Perks: Competitive salary (plus super), latest tech gear, and a front-row seat to the biggest events in the country.
Variety: No two days are the same. One day you're optimizing the office VPN; the next, you're building a redundant network for a festival or a corporate keynote.
Cutting-Edge Gear: We invest in the latest tech to ensure our streams are world-class.
Culture: A high-energy, creative team that values innovation and a "make it happen" attitude.
