Manage and lead Women’s and Children’s Services by building safety, quality and performance through strong nursing and midwifery leadership.

Remuneration: $151,844.86 - $154,505.96 per annum
Hours Per Week: 38
Location:  Blacktown Hospital

What you'll be doing
As the Operational Nurse Manager Women’s and Children’s Services, you will provide professional and operational leadership to ensure safe, effective and sustainable nursing and midwifery services within a complex clinical environment.

* Lead and manage nursing and midwifery services using a risk based and quality focused framework

* Drive service improvement, cultural change and patient safety initiatives including Standard 6 Communicating for Safety

* Provide visible leadership, coaching and performance development for nursing and midwifery staff

* Manage resources, budgets and assets to support operational and financial outcomes

* Partner with multidisciplinary teams and executives, including participation in the on call Hospital Executive roster

Essential Criteria

* Registration: Current Registration as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)



Selection Criteria

* Demonstrated senior nursing and midwifery experience, tertiary qualifications and managing services in a relevant complex clinical setting.

* Proven ability to ensure the human, physical and financial resources of the service/facility are managed to provide safe, compassionate, quality care that is culturally responsive.

* Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to motivate inspire and organise staff to achieve organisational, division and professional outcomes.

* Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and manage conflicts and performance issues when they arise.

* Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking to set goals, formulate strategic plans and policies to achieve identified outcomes for the service and organisation.

* Demonstrated understanding and participation in the implementation of organisational change, risk management, and quality and safety improvement projects in the workplace.

* Demonstrated understanding of contemporary issues impacting on patient flow and capacity, and demonstrated ability to engage teams in implementing demand management strategies.

* Demonstrated experience in managing complex human resources, work health and safety and industrial matters including high level communication and negotiation skills.
