About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Laboratory Manager to join our Rockhampton team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the laboratory, including organizing and delegating field and laboratory work to staff, ensuring deadlines are met.
The ideal candidate will have experience in field and laboratory construction materials testing to Australian standards, NATA Signatory status, and strong communication skills. A commitment to quality assurance and workplace safety is essential.
The role reports to the General Manager and is part of our North Queensland/NT regional management team. Key responsibilities include:
* Managing financial results to achieve budget objectives;
* Managing staff recruitment, training, development, performance, and workforce planning;
* Identifying leads, submitting proposals, engaging with clients, and maintaining positive relationships;
* Ensuring compliance with quality standards, managing quality assurance, and continuous improvement;
* Promoting a safety culture within the laboratory; and
* Building a high-performing team with a focus on a positive workplace culture.
