About the role
The Officer - Resilience is responsible for supporting the development and delivery of targeted initiatives aimed at enhancing the resilience of individuals, households, and communities; with a specific focus on the Greater Geelong area and in partnership with our corporate partner. The role involves assisting in the implementation of evidence-based resources, training, and community activities to build capacity to anticipate, respond to, and recover from disasters and crises. The Officer - Resilience will also support efforts to increase sector knowledge and understanding of disaster impacts, preparedness, and the psychosocial needs of affected populations.
What you will bring
* Sound knowledge and understanding of disaster resilience and community development principles.
* Ability to assist in developing and delivering training, workshops, and resources.
* Advocacy and communication skills, with the ability to support stakeholder engagement.
* Analytical and evaluation skills, with the ability to assist in using data to inform practice.
* Sound disaster resilience, emergency management, or community development knowledge gained through experience, training or education.
* Experience in supporting the development and delivery of training and resources.
* Experience in advocacy and influencing sector practices.
