Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical 4-Year Apprenticeship | Ballarat | Start ASAP
About the Role
This is a hands-on apprenticeship where you’ll gain practical, real-world skills while completing a Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical.
You’ll be trained by trade-qualified, experienced professionals and exposed to work that goes well beyond a generic machine shop. The focus is on precision, quality and problem-solving — producing components where accuracy genuinely matters.
For the right person, this apprenticeship can open pathways into specialist engineering roles, motorsport and race teams, including elite performance environments.
What You’ll Learn & Do
With mentoring and support, you’ll learn to:
· Perform precision fitting, assembly and turning operations on high-performance drivetrain components
· Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
· Work closely with engineers and tradespeople to deliver high-quality outcomes
· Carry out quality inspections to ensure products meet strict performance and safety standards
· Assist with routine maintenance and troubleshooting of manufacturing machinery, including lathes, milling machines and grinders
· Develop strong workshop practices with a focus on safety, accuracy and attention to detail
About You
No previous experience is required — no VCE prerequisites, work experience or licence are needed. What matters most is your attitude.

· Is keen to learn a skilled mechanical trade
· Enjoys hands-on, practical work
· Takes pride in doing things properly and accurately
· Is reliable, punctual and committed to completing a four-year apprenticeship
· Works well as part of a team and follows instructions
· Understands the importance of safety in a workshop environment
