There is an opportunity for a Workplace Health & Safety Advisor to join our Office based in Brisbane and reporting to the Workplace Health & Safety Manager.
Role Description Requirements
* Effective communication, both verbal and written
* Accuracy and attention to detail
* Good organisation skills
* Have a level of skill commensurate with 5 to 7 years of WHS advisor experience within manufacturing, warehousing and construction industries
* Be an accredited Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator (Desirable)
* Hold a formal qualification in Workplace Health and Safety (Cert IV essential)
* Hold a First Aid/CPR Certificate
* Fire Safety Advisor Certificate (Desirable)
Duties include
* Support leaders and supervisors to build and sustain a strong safety culture and awareness
* Monitor and support compliance with WHS and legal requirements
* Investigate WHS incidents and breaches of policy and procedures and provide recommendations to management
* Coordinate the Group's Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including ordering, distribution and replacement
* Review and maintain Safe Work Procedures to ensure they provide appropriate operational guidance
* Support updating, reviewing and developing WHS policies and procedures based on gap analysis and legislative requirements
* Provide advice to management and employees on WHS legislation, standards and best practice
* Coordinate and support WHS audits, inspections and risk assessments
* Support injury management and rehabilitation processes, maintaining documentation and system
* Monitor training and competency records to ensure legislative and organisational compliance
* Support WHS reporting systems, consultation processes, and contractor safety requirements
