Electrical Engineering Opportunity:
We are seeking skilled Electrical Engineers to contribute to the development and implementation of Electrical systems and equipment.
About the Role:
1. Design and develop Electrical engineering documentation
2. Manage Electrical engineering projects from inception to completion
3. Key areas of expertise include High Voltage and Low Voltage system design, Hazardous Areas assessment and design, PLC program and design, Instrumentation and Control design, EMI testing, Generator control system design, Solar and battery energy storage systems design, site electrical assessments, earthing system design and testing, condition-based monitoring, arc flash assessments, UPS design
4. Coordinate external design projects
5. Develop detailed labour and material estimates (BOE)
6. Establish strong relationships with site-based and ad-hoc project teams
7. Complete assigned JORN sustainment engineering changes in accordance with design change policies and participate in mandated system reviews (e.g., SRR, PDR, CDR)
8. Report progress on Engineering Change, S&Q and MPAAHS to the Power and Systems Team Lead weekly
9. Assist in fault diagnosis for system outage events; conduct system safety assessments
10. Attend supervision with Team Lead for career goals and professional development; engage in continuous training to support CPD
11. Assist in analysis of system obsolescence risks and recommended solutions; assist ILS team with JORN sustainment assessments
12. Contribute to team planning, risk management, product safety, quality and SHE
13. Develop electrical knowledge of the JORN system and subsystems; comply with system security requirements
14. Pursue Certified Practising Engineer (CPEng) through Engineers Australia (assistance provided by BAE)
15. Participate in peer reviews for JORN sustainment artefacts; mentor new and junior engineers
16. Develop strong relationships with broader project team including remote site personnel, maintainers, operators and customers
17. Any other task as needed to progress engineering changes through the workflow
Qualifications and Requirements:
* Background in RF or related technologies
* Understanding of electrical and electronic concepts
* Tertiary qualifications in Electrical and Electronic Engineering
* Background in defence practices highly desired
* Understanding of requirements analysis, design, verification and systems engineering principles
* Experience in a Technical Regulatory Framework (e.g., TAMM, TRAMM, NTRF)
* Experience developing detailed engineering work packages
* Experience working in classified environments
