BK Civil Group Pty Ltd is a privately owned business operating across civil construction, earthmoving, transport, plant hire and associated services.
We are currently seeking an experienced WHS Advisor/Trainer to join our team on a FIFO basis from Brisbane or Townsville, working a 2/1 roster to support the delivery of a major project in Northwest Queensland.
Key Requirements:
* Demonstrated experience in heavy earthmoving and/or mining industries
* Immediate availability
* Training & Assessing qualifications (highly desirable)
* Practical machinery operating experience (highly desirable)
About the Role:
You will play a key role in supporting site safety, implementing WHS systems, conducting assessments, and providing hands-on safety leadership to ensure compliance and foster a positive safety culture across the project.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Implementation and management of WHS Project Management Plans,
* Assisting in identifying and managing WHS hazards and risks on site.
* Promotion of innovation, practical outcomes and continuous improvement within workplace HSE
* Building capability within a project team, ensuring compliance with both company and project site policies and procedures,
* Onboarding, inducting and mentoring project team members,
* Verification of Competency assessments,
* WHS document control,
* Effective reporting and liaison with both clients and BK management.
Skills and experience:
* HSE Advisor role experience including direct responsibility for working with a team
* Experience in civil construction/mining operations and managing heavy earthmoving plant safety
* Knowledge and experience in and compliance with legislation including Work Health & Safety and Mining and Quarrying Health and Safety Acts and Regulations
* Proven experience in assessing WHS performance and driving improvement initiatives
* A practical approach to engaging with work teams and managing risks.
* Excellent communication skills
* Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
* High level of computer literacy
* Physically fit inc medical assessment for site access
* Appropriate qualifications for the role including WHS Cert IV or Diploma, and as a minimum 'C' class manual driver's licence
* Advanced industry knowledge, with a working understanding of current WHS legislative requirements, WHS documentation and processes.
