Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook food items as per menu specifications, ensuring consistency in quality, presentation, and taste.
Manage mise en place: chopping, marinating, portioning, and prep work for the day's service.
Monitor food stock levels, liaise with suppliers, assist with stock rotation and minimising waste.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen and storage areas (complying with HACCP / Food Safety requirements).
Assist in menu development, seasonal offerings and special event catering as required.
Work cooperatively with other kitchen staff and front-of-house to deliver efficient service.
Adhere to occupational health & safety requirements and company policies.
About You
Holds at least Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent) or demonstrated kitchen experience in a café/restaurant environment.
Minimum 1 year of experience as a Cook in a similar hospitality setting.
Good understanding of safe food handling, hygiene regulations and Australian Food Standards.
Ability to work a flexible roster including early mornings, weekends and public holidays.
Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and team-work skills.
