We are a family-based business operating two businesses side by side on the same property — Hounds Hilton (dog kennel) and Sweet Acre Farm (egg production). We are looking to expand our team and find a reliable, hardworking individual to assist across both businesses.
About Hounds Hilton

The successful applicant must be confident and comfortable working with dogs of all sizes, including giant breeds, and demonstrate calm, respectful handling regardless of a dog's behaviour or temperament.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
* Ensuring the welfare of dogs, including handling, basic health checks, feeding, and administering medication
* Basic grooming duties such as bathing, drying, and brushing
* Providing enrichment services, including supervised playtime
* Daily cleaning tasks (kennels, yards, office areas, grooming station)
* Operating equipment such as a push mower, ride-on mower, whipper snipper, and blower
* Customer service and administrative duties, including reception, bookings, and pet arrivals/departures
About Sweet Acre Farm
Sweet Acre Farm currently cares for approximately 700 pasture‑raised/free‑range hens. Animal welfare is our top priority, producing high‑quality eggs supplied to cafés and grocers throughout the Midwest.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
* Daily egg collecting, egg sorting, and packing orders.
* Working in a food‑safe environment and following food safety procedures.
Role Requirements
This is a physically demanding role and requires:
* Walking long distances
* Being on your feet for extended periods
* Working independently with limited supervision
* Handling dogs of various sizes and temperaments
* Working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
Availability is required for:
* Weekends/Weekdays
* Public holidays
* School holidays
* Peak periods including Christmas and Easter
Required Skills & Attributes
* Excellent reliability and work ethic
* Previous animal handling experience
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Good time management and problem‑solving abilities
* Commitment to workplace health and safety
* Ability to work independently and use initiative
* Basic computer literacy
* Current Class C driver's licence and own vehicle
Job Start Date: Immediate
Employment type: Casual
Approximate hours per week: Minimum 8–10 hours/two days per week, with more hours available to the right candidate. Plus more work opportunities through school holidays.
