This is a rewarding opportunity to contribute to a service that prioritises high-quality, patient-centred oral health care for our diverse local community. In this role, you will provide specialist oral surgery treatment to eligible public patients, ensuring safe, effective, and compassionate care across our network of clinics. You will collaborate closely with our dental and oral health teams, offering expert clinical input, mentorship, and contributing to continuous quality improvement and clinical governance initiatives. We are looking for a clinician who is: Registered with the Dental Board of Australia as a Dental Specialist in Oral Surgery Experienced in delivering oral surgery services within a public health setting Committed to clinical excellence, teamwork, and patient-centred care An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal and collaborative skills The position is primarily based at Campbelltown Hospital Dental Centre, with flexibility to negotiate clinic location across SWSLHD. Remuneration will be in accordance with NSW Health IB2024_045 Increased Rates of Pay for Visiting Dental Officers. You will be working alongside a supportive team of dental specialists and professionals who are passionate about improving oral health outcomes in our community. What You'll Be Doing Visiting Dental Officers will provide clinical dental care (specialist) to patients of the Oral Health Service in SWSLHDfacilities, on a sessional basis. The dental specialist will be expected to practice within their complete scope of theirpractice and minimise unnecessary referrals to other centres. Campbelltown and Camden Hospitals, part of the South Western Sydney Local Health District, work together to provide comprehensive healthcare services to the Macarthur region. Campbelltown Hospital, a leading tertiary facility, offers a wide range of services including cardiology, maternity, palliative care, respiratory medicine, emergency medicine, and aged-care services. It also features specialised Mental Health and Cancer facilities. Camden Hospital complements these services by specialising in care for older persons with acute or chronic health conditions, including rehabilitation, palliative care, geriatric evaluation and management, and psychogeriatric care. Must be registered (with no conditions) with the Dental Board of Australia as a Specialist in appropriate specialty (Oral Surgery, Paediatrics or Special Needs Dentistry) and must currently hold and maintain current professional medical/dental indemnity insurance. Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated understanding of infection control principles. An understanding of current concepts in clinical practice including activity based and value based care. Skills and commitment to work effectively in multi-disciplinary dental teams, with effective time management, communication and interpersonal skills. Adequate computer skills for clinical and associated applications. Demonstrated commitment to quality assurance and patient safety activities relevant to dental practice.
