About The Facility – Our major sites include University Hospital Geelong, the McKellar Centre precinct in North Geelong, Barwon Health North in Norlane, and residential aged care facilities. Core services include mental health, community health and dental across several regions.
About The Role – In this role you will use your knowledge and experience in emergency medicine across adult, paediatric, psychiatric, trauma and toxicology emergencies.
Your Duties Will Include But Are Not Limited To
* Direct patient care
* Team Leader roles across General, Resuscitation, Short Stay Units, Fast Track & Children's ED
* Clinical Senior Medical Officer shifts at Colac Area Health Urgent Care Centre
* Liaison with referring doctors/hospitals regarding patients being referred to ED
* Liaison and provision of clinical advice to paramedics and community‑based clinicians
* Supervision of all clinical staff working within the ED
* Provision of telehealth clinical care and coordination to regional and community based services
* In collaboration with ED Nurse in Charge, be responsible for overall senior clinical oversight and coordination of the ED
* Participation in ED Consultant clinical roster including on‑call responsibilities
* Supervision of Short Stay Units & MHAOD Hub
* Coordinate interhospital transfers and retrievals where required
* Coordinate ED response to disasters or mass casualty incidents
* Involvement in active clinical research, opportunity to develop a research portfolio
* Support high quality clinical education and training to Emergency Services staff
* Participate in clinical support activities to develop quality improvement initiatives and fulfill operational requirements
