.ABOUT THE TEAM
Government Digital and Network Services (GDNS) delivers 'whole of government' digital services and platforms to address the needs of entities. GDNS also develop and support the secure telecommunications and digital collaboration needs of the Australian Government. GDNS is responsible for:
* GovCMS which was built by government as a whole-of-government service. GovCMS is available to organisations of any size. It is suitable for websites containing publicly available information up to Official: Sensitive. Using open-source technology (Drupal) on a public cloud platform, GovCMS also provides cyber security protection services.
* Directory.gov.au which provides information about government structures, organisations and key people in a single place, making it easier to find and update information. GDNS also manages the back-end application on Salesforce cloud that enables agency updaters to update portfolio information into the Organisations and Appointments Register (OAR).
* Intra Commonwealth Optical-fibre Network (ICON), an optical fibre network that links Commonwealth offices throughout Canberra.
* Ministerial Communications Network (MCN) which provides secure telecommunications services to all Ministers, Parliamentary Offices, and Agency Heads, in Parliament House and throughout Australia.
* Domain Name Administration function which has responsibility for providing registrar services to the Australian Government and state, territory and local governments.
* GovDNA is a whole of government system used to support government domain name management
The Service Operations section is a cross-functional team of:
* Developers who maintain, release and deploy the GovCMS distribution and provide support for digital services and platforms
* Technical engineers that support and maintain cyber protection services for web applications
* Security specialists who provide advice and guidance on ICT security and maintain security assurance for digital services managed by the Branch
* Domain name administrator
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY Government Digital and Network Services (GDNS) is looking for a talented and enthusiastic person who is willing to develop their skills in cyber security and domain name administration.
This role provides operational support for:
* Cyber security for digital services managed by the branch, including GovCMS and GovDNA, and,
* The Commonwealth Domain Name Administration Function.
GovCMS is an opens source web content management system and hosting platform managed by Finance. Agencies using GovCMS are able to create and manage secure websites cost effectively, in compliance with Australian government standards.
GovDNA is a whole of government system used to support government domain name management.
Some of the duties include:
* Providing support to state and territory gov.au domain administrators, and to Australian, state, territory and local government domain registrant contacts.
* Providing support and process requests for new .gov.au domains and changes to existing .gov.au domains.
* Assisting with configuration changes for .gov.au domains using GovDNA.
* Contribute to planning, prioritising and testing of functionality to be included in GovDNA quarterly releases.
* Monitoring security advisories for potential vulnerabilities, conducting research into mitigation/actions and coordinating their remediation.
* Providing support to internal and external stakeholders on the cyber security matters for digital services managed by GDNS.
* Assisting with Web Protection Services comprising DDoS, WAF and Bot Manager.
* Assisting with investigating, response and reporting for cyber security incidents.
* Maintaining security documentation under the existing security framework.
* Supporting GDNS Security Assurance Manager, Government Domain Administrator and Cloud Infrastructure Manager as directed.
* Representing the Department of Finance at meetings and working groups and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders and service providers.
