This important role will connect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples with the community at City of Parramatta.
**How this position will make a difference to the City of Parramatta**
By delivering customer focused visitor programs and services that attract and engage visitors and locals to of the City of Parramatta.
**On a daily basis you will**:
Maintain and share your depth knowledge of Parramatta's visitor experience offer, cultural and natural heritage, as well as general regional visitor information.
Participate as a team member of the Cultural Heritage & Tourism team and work cross-functionally to contribute to Council, as required.
Ensure to take reasonable care of the health and safety of yourself, staff, visitors, contractors, and volunteers whilst at work, and cooperate with Council to comply with WHS legislative obligations.
Ensure EEO, the principles for a culturally diverse society, and Council policies are always complied with.
Contribute to improved customer service and organisational effectiveness, by acting ethically, honestly and with fairness.
**About You**
- Tertiary qualification (Certificate III and above) in Tourism, Guiding or Interpretation or related industry or demonstrated equivalent industry experience.
- Experience in interpretation and/or delivery of tour product
- Experience working in interpretation and informal learning environments e.g. tour guiding, tourism attraction, visitor or interpretation centre or visitor services operations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide high quality visitor experiences and customer service including excellent oral English language skills.
- Sound problem-solving skills and ability to prioritise visitor needs and tasks.
- Ability to work alone and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Experience in working with children.
**Working With Children's Check and First Aid Certificate required.**
