About the Role
* This position is a key leadership role in our organization, overseeing the delivery of high-quality services to children, youth, and families in care.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversight of intake, assessment, and care planning processes ensures that the needs of all stakeholders are met.
* Supervision and guidance are provided to support workers and practitioners, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
* Collaboration with families, carers, and external stakeholders fosters strong relationships and effective service delivery.
* Ensuring compliance with child protection legislation and best practice is crucial in maintaining a safe and inclusive environment.
* Promoting culturally safe services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities is an essential aspect of this role.
* Contributing to continuous improvement and service innovation drives positive change and enhances the overall experience for clients.
Requirements
* A degree in Social Work, Psychology, Social Sciences or related field is required.
* At least 3 years' experience in child protection or youth/family services is necessary.
* 1+ years' experience leading a team in a care or support setting is preferred.
* Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and child development is essential.
* Knowledge of the Child Protection Act 1999 and DFV legislation is required.
* Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills are necessary for success in this role.
* A current driver's licence, National Police Certificate, Working for Children (Blue Card), Child Safety and Personal History Screening Check (LCS) - or the ability to obtain - are mandatory.
