In this role, you’ll be managing the development and evaluation of best practice policies, programs, projects, and activities for the Ministry of Health, public health organisations, and related government agencies to support the achievement of NSW Health’s objectives in relation to health system purchasing. You’ll lead a team that works collaboratively to deliver the agreements between the NSW Ministry of Health and public health entities which provide the budget, mix and volume of services being purchased and performance expectations for each organisation.
Crown Clerk 11/12, starting salary from $149,739 - $173,174 plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 35-hour work week.

What you'll be doing
* Lead and manage staff undertaking policy development and evaluation activities and projects for the Ministry of Health and related government agencies addressing current and emerging health system purchasing policy issues
* Research and evaluate health system purchasing policies in order to assess and advise on their relevance and their potential impact on Ministry and Government objectives
* Provide sound information and advice on current and emerging health system purchasing policy issues to Senior Executives and key staff within the Ministry of Health, public health organisations and related government agencies to ensure issues are satisfactorily resolved or addressed
* Provide advice to support managers to consistently interpret health system purchasing policies and practices.
* Represent NSW Health on internal and external committees working on health system purchasing policy issues.
* Build and maintain collaborative relationships with key staff in public health organisations and stakeholder representatives to maintain knowledge of health system purchasing issues and discuss and process matters that have Statewide consequences.
* Plan, manage and monitor projects assigned to the team to ensure project outcomes and/or expectations are achieved.
* Prepare high quality written reports, briefs, correspondence, and cabinet documents to inform or respond to agency or Government requests.
About you We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with:
* Significant experience in developing, analysing and evaluating policy and other projects in a multidisciplinary environment
* Significant knowledge and understanding of policies and legislation impacting on health system purchasing and related matters
* Demonstrated skills and experience in managing all aspects of policy research, development, review and evaluation
* The ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
