Temple & Webster is Australia's leading online furniture and homewares retailer, and we are looking for an experienced site merchandising professional to operate in a senior, lead capacity. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in data driven environments, enjoys solving complex problems, and can confidently prioritise work in a fast‑paced ecommerce business. You will shape how customers discover products, move through the site, and convert, working closely with Product, UX, Category Management, Broadcast and Marketing. This is not an execution‑only role. You will drive strategy, set standards, and influence outcomes in a high‑trust environment.
About the Role
As a Site Merchandising Lead, you will own the customer journey from landing page through to cart. You will be responsible for navigation, taxonomy, filters, schema tagging and site standards that ensure products are easy to find, compare and purchase. You will report into the Head of Customer Experience and work closely with a small, highly collaborative site merchandising team, partnering across the business to deliver measurable commercial impact.
What You'll Do
* Own and optimise customer journeys across the website from entry to cart
* Lead site merchandising strategy across navigation, taxonomy, filters and on‑site discovery
* Set and maintain merchandising standards used by Broadcast for product loading
* Drive schema tagging and categorisation to support search, SEO and filtering
* Analyse customer behaviour and performance data to inform prioritisation
* Conduct competitive analysis to identify opportunities and gaps in the market
* Partner with UX and Product to plan and deliver landing pages and site enhancements
* Work pragmatically within proprietary tools, navigating system limitations and bugs
* Balance BAU activity with strategic initiatives in a high‑volume environment
What We're Looking For
* Strong experience in ecommerce or retail site merchandising
* Exposure to large product catalogues and complex category structures – A MUST
* Proven ability to operate independently and prioritise strategically
* Strong data capability using Excel and Google Sheets
* Experience with SQL, BigQuery or similar querying tools is highly regarded
* Comfortable working cross‑functionally with Product, UX, Category and Marketing teams
* Open to using AI tools to support analysis, refreshes and efficiency
* Collaborative mindset with strong commercial judgement
