About the Opportunity
The Technical Data Lead plays a key role in managing and delivering high‑quality technical data for a major shipbuilding program. This role will be responsible for the implementation and management of the Technical Data Plan. And working together with; Design Engineering, Configuration Management, Reliability and Mechanical Engineering, the IPS team and supply support teams, this role ensures all product data is accurate, traceable, and aligned with the Digital Shipyard (DSY), Integrated Data Environment (IDE) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) data systems.
You will coordinate the development of technical publications, maintain data continuity across disciplines, and support the successful transfer of information needed for long‑term operations and sustainment. Partnering with the Product Support Manager and supported by technical data developers, you'll help ensure all technical data meets the required standards (S1000D) and is delivered to the customer reliably and efficiently. Including Interactive Electronic Technical Publications (IETP).

What's Involved:
Align technical data activities with Digital Shipyard, IDE, ERP and the project's Technical Data Plan
Work closely with Systems, Design, IPS Engineering, Configuration Management and Supply Support to ensure accurate, connected, and traceable data
Plan, manage, and assure delivery of Interactive Electronic Technical Publications (IETPs) to S1000D standards
Establish and manage data packages and transfer processes to support operations and sustainment
Lead technical data risk, issue, and quality management
Coordinate ASDEFCON technical data and IP compliance requirements
Develop and maintain IDE/ERP data governance procedures and performance metrics
Guide and support technical data developers and suppliers
Support the Product Support Manager with technical data inputs for lifecycle cost and capability planning
You'll Need:
Australian citizenship and the ability to obtain an AGSVA Baseline Security Clearance
A degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Data/Information Management, or equivalent experience
8+ years' experience in Integrated Product Support/ILS, including at least 3 years leading technical data on complex maritime or shipbuilding programs
Strong understanding of ASDEFCON technical data and IP requirements, and how they apply during tendering and contract execution
