Geotechnical Engineer
This is a challenging role that requires an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join our team at Mungari operations. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting underground mining activities through expert geotechnical analysis, design, and risk management. This involves working closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective mining practices.
The Role:
- Providing geotechnical input into mine design, scheduling, and ground support systems
- Conducting geotechnical mapping, core logging, and numerical modelling to assess ground conditions and performance
- Monitoring seismic activity and supporting the use of IMS seismic systems and data analysis
- Investigating geotechnical incidents and recommending improvements to ground control strategies
- Collaborating with geologists, engineers, and operations teams to manage shared geotechnical risks and optimise resource recovery
What You Need:
- A strong foundation in underground mining and a passion for safety, innovation, and collaboration
- Practical mindset, technical expertise, and a drive to continuously improve systems and outcomes
- Proficiency in geotechnical software (Map3D, Phase2, Dips, Unwedge), seismic systems (IMS Suite), and CAD/modelling tools (Leapfrog, Deswik)
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
